Cordero di Montezemolo Monfalletto Barolo 2018

Critical Acclaim: 94 pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate; 93 pts James Suckling; 91 pts Wine Spectator.

Tasting Notes: "A certified organic wine, the Cordero di Montezemolo 2018 Barolo Monfalletto has some candied cherry, pressed violet and earthy or ferrous notes that create a long and very polished finish. This wine is made with a selection of fruit from La Morra with vineyards that extend under a towering cedar of Lebanon that has become a symbol of Barolo over its long lifespan. Black licorice appears on the close."- Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

"Lots of dusty spice to the red berries on the nose, developing into oak notes of the medium to full palate. There’s plenty of structure and firmness here and a long, firm finish of spicy oak and fruit. From organically grown grapes. Wait for this to develop. Try from 2025."- James Suckling.

"This beefy red is highlighted by black cherry, blackberry, vanilla and oak spice flavors. Muscular tannins set the pace in this version, with the fruit and savory elements buried for now. Ends with a hard, lightly astringent edge. Best from 2025 through 2042. 4,300 cases made."- Wine Spectator.
