Gaja Ca’marcanda Vistamare Toscana IGT 2021

Critical Acclaim: 92 pts Jeb Dunnuck.

Winemaker Tasting Notes: Intense floral notes of acacia and linden flowers. The refreshing presence of Fiano gives notes of fern, musk and menthol. On the palate, it is fresh and compact with notes of bergamot, pear, nectarine and white currant. Then it shifts toward a more mineral and spicy character, with notes of flint, rosemary, saffron. The wine gets riper in the finish with hints of mango, almond and fig leaves.

About the Wine: The playful name of this wine was inspired by the sea breeze, sun, and cheerful and light-hearted outlook of the Tuscan coast. “Vistamare” means sea view and is often used by coastal hoteliers to entice would-be guests. The vineyards used for Vistamare actually enjoy a panoramic view of the Tuscan horizon and their grapes are gently touched by the saltine air and brilliant colors of the Tuscan sea. Vistamare is a very limited production wine and the only white wine produced by the Ca‘ Marcanda estate, providing wine collectors with a true gem: Angelo Gaja’s exclusive expression of Tuscan white wine.

Varietal: 40% Vermentino, 40% Viognier, and 20% Fiano.
