Domaine Roux Pere & Fils Chassagne Montrachet Blanc 2021

About the Winery: Founded in 1885, Domaine Roux is currently operated by the 4th and 5th generation of the Roux family. With vineyard holdings throughout the Côte d'Or, the Domaine is situated in the Saint Aubin village of the Côte de Beaune. This historic property maintains one of the most incredible libraries of older vintages. No one in Burgundy has such an impressive collection of verticals from such a diverse array of villages, single vineyards and Premier Cru wines.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of mayflower, acacia, and honeysuckle blend with verbena and hazelnut and in some cases toast or fresh butter. This wine boasts a profound minerality (flint). Age brings in notes of honey or ripe pear. Rounded and often opulent, its attack is instantaneous. On the palate, fleshiness is matched by mellowness, and both are equally persistent. Handpicked and undergoes traditional fermentation in oak barrels (20-25% new casks), aged for 15-16 months in oak.

Varietal: Chardonnay.
