Winemaker's Tasting Notes: A beautiful dark ruby colour. The nose exudes aromas of black fruits and spices accompanied by woody and smoky notes. The entry of the palate offers a powerful substance with present and well-coated tannins accompanied by pleasant woody notes. This wine has a beautiful structure as well as a good aromatic persistence.
"This is rich and expressive, featuring cherry, raspberry, floral, earth and light spice flavors. All of its elements are in harmony, making this red enjoyable now through the long, refreshing finish. Drink now through 2037."- Wine Spectator.
About the Wine: Domaine Vincent Girardin’s Pommard Vieilles Vignes Pinot Noir comes from old-vine parcels—many 40 to 60 years old—spread across several well-situated lieux-dits in Pommard. The vineyards sit on classic Côte de Beaune soils composed of limestone, clay, and iron-rich marl, which naturally lend structure, depth, and an earthy backbone to the wine. The old vines produce low yields of small, concentrated berries, resulting in fruit with notable power and complexity. The domaine farms organically, with careful canopy management, strict yield control, and hand harvesting to ensure optimal ripeness and purity. This terroir, combined with old-vine intensity, delivers grapes that reflect the robust, mineral-driven character that defines Pommard.
Varietal: Pinot Noir.
