Vall Llach Idus Priorat 2021

Winemaker's Tasting Notes: The magnificent century-old estate vineyards boast 60- to 90-year-old Cariñena and Garnacha vines as well as newer plantings of Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah that add complexity to Vall Llach’s range of widely acclaimed wines. Priorat’s notoriously stingy llicorella (fractured black slate) hillsides produce extremely low yields of intensely flavored grapes.

About the Wine: The winery team makes this wine from grapes sourced from very old vines. Some of these centenary vines come from selected vineyards owned by grape growers who have worked with us from our beginnings. The winery team thoroughly monitors every stage of the winemaking process. It is this close collaboration with the grape growers that provide us with traditions and customs hand down over the years and have led Celler Vall Llach to identify this wine with the effort and uniqueness involved in cultivating these lands. Idus is truly a “terroir” driven wine.

Varietal: 67% Carinena and 33% Grenache.
