Winemaker's Tasting Notes: Deep ruby red with violet notes. Aromas of licorice, blueberry, small forest fruits, pepper and chocolate. Full-bodied and structured, with elegant tannins, preserved-fruit depth and a long spiced finish.

About the Wine: Amorino is Podere Castorani's 100% Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, grown around Alanno on deep clay soils. The grapes are hand-harvested in October, fermented with extended skin contact and aged 12 months in wood sur lie followed by 12 months in bottle.

Serving Suggestion: Perfect with grilled meats, stewed game, aged cheeses or blue cheese.
