Louis Michel & Fils Séchets Chablis Premier Cru 2022

Critical Acclaim: 94 pts Vinous; 93 pts Burghound; 93 pts Jasper Morris; 92 pts Decanter.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes: This wine has aromas of grapefruit, stone and flowers. It is a tight, dense wine of outstanding purity and remarkable minerality. It is enhanced by notes of white-fleshed fruit.

"The 2022 Chablis Séchets 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet with orange blossom plus touches of beeswax that gains intensity with aeration. The palate is well-balanced, with a lightly spiced entry and fine depth. It is quite saline in the mouth, with a slice of sour lemon lending tension towards the finish. One of Louis Michel's more complex and intellectual Premier Crus this year."- Vinous.

"A restrained if vaguely exotic nose grudgingly offers up its aromas of white peach, citrus confit, lychee and quinine. There is fine intensity to the equally well-detailed and even more mineral-driven middleweight flavors that exhibit very good persistence on the balanced and nicely dry finale. This highly refreshing effort could use better depth so again, a few years of keeping should prove beneficial."- Burghound.

"Mid lemon yellow. A prettier ripe lemon bouquet, juicier for once than Vaillons. There is plenty of fruit here, ripe apples, and a well balanced follow through that leaves the mouth tingling but there is enough flesh on the bones too. Quite forward."- Jasper Morris.

"Forward white flowers and peach on the palate. A very classy example with a generous mouthfeel and fine acidity. Lots going on here. Mineral at the end, this has a sunny style which will have very wide appeal."- Decanter.
