About the Winery: Château du Nozet and its surrounding vineyards were acquired by Comte Lafond, an ancestor of the current owner, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette. More than 250 acres of estate vineyards surround the château in Pouilly-Fumé.
About the Wine: This 100% Sauvignon Blanc comes from clay-and-limestone vineyards around Pouilly-sur-Loire, Saint-Andelain and Tracy-sur-Loire. The grapes are destemmed and gravity-fed before pressing, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel, and matured on natural lees for three to six months. No oak is used.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes: The delicate and complex olfactory expression opens on aromas which remind of white flower, exotic fruits. There is a very beautiful complexity for a vintage where the end-of-season’s sun brought a lot to the aromas. Excellent complexity that translates into great and elegant richness. Nice attack, straight and bright, it takes place with elegance on fruity notes associated with a dense structure and a beautiful acidity which brings a great length in the end of the mouth. There are aromas of exotic fruits (litchi, mango).
"Chilled citrus and white-peach aromas mingle with orange blossom and lilac on the nose. The palate is pleasantly mineral driven, with flavors of crushed shell, grilled lemon, and green Anjou pear. A whiff of dried hay on the finish brings everything together."- Wine Enthusiast.
Serving Suggestion: Serve well chilled with oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, fresh goat cheese or lightly creamy seafood dishes.
Varietal: 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
