About the Winery: Comte Lafond is produced by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette from holdings in Sancerre. The estate works with mature Sauvignon Blanc vines across Bué, Chaudoux, Chavignol and Verdigny.
About the Wine: The vines are 25 to 35 years old and grow in clay, limestone and silica soils. The fruit moves through the winery by gravity, ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel, and rests on its lees for three to six months. No oak is used, preserving the wine’s freshness and aromatic clarity.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes: Pale gold and crystalline, with orange peel, lemon, white peach and pear opening into honey, peppermint and fresh almond. Lychee and mango add a rounded exotic-fruit note, while bright acidity and stony minerality carry the long, ripe-lemon finish.
Serving Suggestion: Serve well chilled with oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, fresh goat cheese or herb-driven dishes.
Varietal: 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
