About the Winery: Founded by Aubert and Pamela de Villaine in Bouzeron and now led by Pierre de Benoist, Domaine de Villaine is an independent Côte Chalonnaise estate known for organic farming, careful cellar work, and wines that keep their vineyard character front and center.

About the Wine: Les Margotés sits at the cool, windy southern end of the Rully appellation on limestone-dominant soils. The Chardonnay is vinified and matured primarily in large oak foudres, building texture and complexity without covering the site's freshness. This is the more concentrated, quietly powerful side of Rully, with the mineral line still firmly intact.

Tasting Notes: Fresh orchard fruit, white flowers, chalk, and restrained oak lead into a round but precise palate. The wine is intense and concentrated, with contained energy, bright acidity, and a cool, mineral finish.

Serving Suggestion: Serve cool, not ice-cold, with roasted poultry, crab, scallops, creamy fish dishes, or nutty alpine cheeses. The 2022 is entering a lovely drinking window and can continue developing in the cellar.
