About the Winery: Founded in 1889, Cantina Tramin is a cooperative of local growers in Alto Adige. Winemaker Willi Stürz works with high-elevation vineyards to produce precise, aromatic wines.

About the Wine: Stoan, meaning “stone” in the local German dialect, is a blend of 60% Chardonnay, 22% Sauvignon Blanc, 11% Pinot Bianco and 7% Gewürztraminer. It ferments in cask and matures for 11 months in large French and Austrian oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: Peach, ripe pear, elderflower, pineapple and mango lead into polished orchard fruit and candied citrus. Crisp mineral tones and a saline edge keep the generous, aromatic palate focused and fresh.

Serving Suggestion: Serve chilled with Asian-inspired dishes, braised halibut in coconut and lemongrass, ginger chicken, rich fish or seasoned white meats.
