About the Winery: Bideona farms small hillside parcels in Rioja Alavesa, below the Sierra Cantabria. The estate focuses on the character of its limestone-rich sites rather than a prominent oak signature.
About the Wine: Laderas means “slopes.” The 2023 is a predominantly Tempranillo field blend from hillside plots across Rioja Alavesa, with vines averaging about 31 years old. The grapes are hand-harvested; fermentation and aging use a mix of stainless steel, concrete, and used oak.
Tasting Notes: Pure cherry and red-berry aromas meet thyme and a subtle floral lift. Medium-bodied and precise, with fresh acidity, concentrated fruit, fine-grained tannins and a quiet mineral finish.
Serving Suggestion: Pour with roast chicken, grilled lamb, mushrooms or a plate of charcuterie. A slight chill brings out its bright fruit.
Varietal: Predominantly Tempranillo, with other indigenous red varieties in the field blend.
