Domaine Roux Pere et Fils Aloxe-Corton Les Boutieres Blanc 2020

About the Winery: Founded in 1885, Domaine Roux is currently operated by the 4th and 5th generation of the Roux family. With vineyard holdings throughout the Côte d'Or, the Domaine is situated in the Saint Aubin village of the Côte de Beaune. This historic property maintains one of the most incredible libraries of older vintages. No one in Burgundy has such an impressive collection of verticals from such a diverse array of villages, single vineyards and Premier Cru wines.

Tasting Notes: When young, it is pale gold in color with green highlights. As it ages, the color shifts towards yellow or amber. The bouquet, delicate in the extreme, features buttery notes of baked apple, citrus fruits, pineapple, lime, bracken, juniper, cinnamon, and flint. Honeyed notes are frequently present. The older vintages reveal leather and truffle. Both the glass and the palate are filled with its powerful exhalations. It is an astonishing demonstration of what the Chardonnay grape is capable of in terms of richness, power, concentration, distinction and balance. Handpicked harvest. Traditional fermentation in oak barrels (25-30% new casks). Maturation during 14-16 months in cellar for ageing, stored in barrels.

Varietal: Chardonnay.
