Domaine Louis Michel & Fils Butteaux 1er Cru 2021

Critical Acclaim: 93 pts Burghound; 92 pts Decanter.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes: The Premier Cru Butteaux has a complex nose, with aromas of caramelized cooked apple, toasted notes, accompanied by sensations of wet stone and undergrowth. The palate is dynamic, with a mouth-watering finish.

"A more floral nose reflects notes of green apple, lemon rind and tidal pool nuances. The sleek and intense medium weight flavors are not quite as concentrated, but they're better delineated on the palate coating, bone-dry and impressively long finale. Excellent potential here."- Burghound.

"The vines at Butteaux are planted on clay, Kimmeridgian soil. Much more restrained on the nose, this needs time (and aeration) to coax out of the glass. Powerfully structured, this Butteaux will keep very well, given the density and concentration on show. A classic Chablis in character."- Decanter.

Varietal: Chardonnay.
