Podere le Ripi 'Amore & Magia' 2018

Winemaker's Tasting Notes: A deep ruby red, richer when compared to wines grown from our other vineyards. In the nose, it expresses itself as a symphony of aromas ranging from the intense smell of red-orange and violets to fresh balsamic herbal notes. This vineyard is characterized by a more creamy and silky taste coupled with a fun and vibrant saltiness. The 2018 vintage was mild with some refreshing rains in September. Wines from this vintage are certainly rich and Mediterranean. But we think that with the appropriate manoeuvres in the cellar, especially thanks to a longer time spent in the cement vats, the wines have an interesting energy and a long aging potential.

"With a darker profile that is a bit more introverted initially, with time the 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino Amore E Magia begins to unfold notes of black cherry liqueur, fresh leather, forest floor, and anise. Full-bodied and ripe with blackberry, candied lavender, and turned soil, it reveals ripe and present tannins, with its more sunny fruit taking the lead, and finishes with warming cedar spice."- Jeb Dunnuck.

"The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Amore e Magia possesses a rich and spicy mix of cloves, allspice and fresh mint before unleashing its core of wild strawberry fruit. This is a round and silky style with polished red berries, sweet spice and mineral tones that slowly add tension toward the close. Nothing is out of place here, as the 2018 finishes with gentle tannins, mixing sour cherry with lavender tones, while leaving the mouth watering for more. Only a short stay in the cellar will be necessary for this remarkably pretty rendition of Amore e Magia to show it's best."- Vinous.
