Chapoutier Ermitage Le Pavillon 2018

Critical Acclaim: 98 pts Jeb Dunnuck; 98 pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate; 98 pts Vinous; 96 pts Decanter; 96 pts Wine Spectator.

About the Wine: Chapoutier’s Ermitage le Pavillon is made from syrah vines with an average age of 90+ years. The grapes are hand-harvested, totally de-stemmed, and fermented in concrete tanks.

Tasting Notes: The 2018 Ermitage le Pavillon is a plush, full-bodied beauty that combines fruity notes of blueberries with savory notes of black olives and marries them together with rich, earthy notes. Almost creamy across the mid-palate, it finishes with soft waves of velvety tannins. I expect this will firm up a bit prior to bottling, then drink well for two decades. - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Varietal: Syrah.
