About the wine: A milestone year for the Balbo family! 2012 is the year Susana children Jose and Ana, officially joined the winery, making this vintage a symbol of legacy, family values, and continuity. Exceptional weather conditions in 2012 resulted in Cabernet Sauvignon of outstanding quality far superior to the Malbec that year. Because of this, the winemaking team chose Cabernet Sauvignon to express the Mendoza terroir at its best, particularly from Paraje Altamira in the Uco Valley.
Tasting Notes: "The release of this library 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon - Susana Balbo's favourite variety - marked the 25th anniversary of her eponymous winery. Oppulent, dense nose of roasted peppers, poached red cherries, plum sorbet and dark chocolate. The tannins are robust, assertive and grippy, softened by the velvety, sweet juiciness of the fruit core. Broody background of tobacco leaves, wet forest floor and dried herbs. Great freshness and definition on show, 12 years on. Drinking window 2024-2030."- Decanter.
