Bodega Bouza Monte Vide EU 2020

Critical Acclaim: 95 pts Tim Akin; 94 pts Patricio Tapia; 93 pts James Suckling; 91 pts Wine & Spirits.

Winemaker Tasting Notes: Intense red color. Fruit aromas of plums and blackberry, with vanilla and toasted notes. Balanced acidity in the mouth with rounded and silky tannins. Medium body leads into a long, lasting finish.

"A rich, deep and complex nose dusted with plenty of cocoa powder. Blackberries, tapenade, cigar box and a hint of violets. This is modern, opulent and concentrated on the full-bodied palate, rounded by a plethora of firm, dusty tannins before a flavorful finish. Richer style of tannat, but balanced. Better from 2024."- James Suckling.

About the Winery: Juan and Elisa established Bodega Bouza in 2000 by restoring a historic winery first built in 1942 by Numa Pesquera. Since then the winery has established itself as Uruguay’s most critically acclaimed producer. Grapes are sourced from Bouza’s two estate vineyards in the Canelones region.

Varietal: 55% Tannat, 27% Merlot and 18% Tempranillo.
