Mannelli-Graetz Isola delle Falcole Toscana 'Vecchia Vigna' 2018

About the Wine: An extraordinary micro-zone between Montefioralle and Panzano is the birthplace of this wine: fruit of meticulously selected grapes from naturally cultivated vineyards, boasting a full southern exposure of elevations between 300 and 450 meters above sea level. Naturally fermented and aged for aged 30 months in large oak casks, followed by bottle aging.

Emanuele Graetz is the driving force behind Isola delle Falcole, not just someone selling its wine. He began the project with his two best friends Alessandro Mannelli, who manages the cellar, and Niccolò Righini, who manages the vineyards. Their first production vintage was 2017. The label depicts three distinct vineyards, each representing one of the three friends behind the project.  Emanuele himself has designed all the labels to his wine.  His passion for Chianti, wine, and winemaking comes through in every sip.  Production is roughly 2,600 bottles, so this is a small-production, vineyard-focused Chianti Classico rather than a volume label.

Varietal: 70% Sangiovese, 10% Colorino, 5% Ciliegiolo, 5% Canaiolo, 5% Malvasia and 5% Trebbiano.
