Critical Acclaim: 95 pts Jeb Dunnuck; 95 pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
Winemaker Tasting Notes: This wine presents a very pretty red burlap cherry dress with pretty violin reflections. We discover a very elegant nose on aromas of strawberries and crushed rhubarb pie associated with sweet spices, curries and cumin. The mouth is very creamy, full of sweetness where we discover aromas of red fruit sabayon combined with cherry liquorice and liquorice liquorice. Very nice length is very nice minerality.
"“Moving to two Sta. Rita Hills releases, the 2019 Pinot Noir Clos Pepe Vineyard Est (previously called Clos Pepe #6 when it was reviewed from barrel) has a more structured, focused, elegant style that carries notes of Bing cherries, mulberries, cedary herbs, spice, and a touch of marine-like minerality and saltiness, which is classic Sta. Rita Hills. Rich, tannic, medium to full-bodied, and beautifully balanced, this killer Pinot Noir needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will drink well for a decade."- Jeb Dunnuck.
"I tasted the 2019 Pinot Noir Clos Pepe #6 as a final blend while still in barrel, aging in about 85% to 90% new oak. The nose features dried cherries, cinnamon, charcuterie, earthy hints and tea leaves, with a medium-bodied, lushly fruited palate that offers loads of perfumed accents. Firm, grainy and fresh, it finishes long and layered."- Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
Serving Suggestion: Rib of beef grilled with wild herbs, duck breast with red fruits, roast chicken.
Varietal: Pinot Noir.
