Critical Acclaim: 87 pts Jasper Morris MW.
About the Winery: Established in Puligny-Montrachet in 1859, Domaine Jean Chartron has remained in the Chartron family for five generations. The estate is especially known for its Chardonnay from Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune.
About the Wine: This old-vine Bourgogne Chardonnay grows on clay-limestone soils. The 2024 is fermented in barrel, then spends eight months on fine lees in barrel and a further three months in tank, adding texture while preserving freshness.
Tasting Notes: Wildflowers and fresh pear rise from the glass, with apple fruit on a crisp, linear palate. Lively acidity balances a gently rounded texture and carries through the clean finish.
“Fresher apple on the palate, good acidity, a leaner style though still with some flesh, good length.” - Jasper Morris MW.
Serving Suggestion: Serve lightly chilled with roast chicken, seafood or a creamy vegetable dish.
Varietal: 100% Chardonnay.
