Mad Violets Pinot Noir 2016

About the Wine: The fruit is sourced from four vineyards, all farmed by Stirling: 50% from their own Buttonfield Vineyard, 20% from the Adams Vineyard, 15% from the Dupee Valley Vineyard and 15% from the Terrarossa Vineyard. The clonal mix is Pommard, 777, 667 and 115 respectively. The wine is aged in 45% new French oak for eighteen months, which results in an elegant integration of oak and fruit.

Tasting Notes: The color is a deep garnet with a nose of cola, cedar, sandalwood and strawberry preserves. The approach is bright with the acidity of fresh raspberry, while the palate is rich with black cherry and plum notes, deepened with hints of sassafras and baking spice.

Varietal: Pinot Noir.
